Open Access Policy

All published content in Information Research is published with immediate open access, which means that you as a user do not need to pay or register to read content.

Authors of content published in Information Research retain copyright to their works. From Volume 30 onwards, articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license CC BY-NC, which gives third parties the right to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. It also gives third parties the right to remix, transform and build upon the material for any purpose, except commercial, on the condition that clear acknowledgment is given to the author(s) of the work, that a link to the license is provided and that it is made clear if changes have been made to the work.

For contents of Volumes 1 – 29, the CC BY-NC-ND license applies. This license is similar to the CC BY-NC license, but also restricts the distribution of derivative works. License and copyright information is provided on each article. Please refer to the Creative Commons resources for more details on these specific licenses.

Information Research does not charge author or publication fees.

Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version of their article for self-archiving (author's personal website) and/or archiving in an institutional archive immediately after publication.
