Abstract

Music by Johan Helmich Roman and his contemporaries in the Lund University Library. The orchestra “Akademiska kapellet” in Lund is the owner of three 1700-century collections of music; the Engelhardt, Wenster and Kraus collections, which are now deposited with the Lund University Library. This article describes the connections between the “Akademiska kapellet” in Lund and the musical life in Stockholm The second part of the article deals with one of the songs in the collection. This song exists in five different copies, in three of these the song is attributed to Grönvall, an otherwise unknown composer. In one of the copies, written by F. Kraus, the song is
attributed to Roman. This attribution to Roman has been dismissed by previous researchers, a dismissal questioned by the author.
