Submission Deadlines for 2026

Adoranten will publish two issues in 2027 - the 2026 issue and a special issue.

2026 Issue (Submission Deadline: 25 September 2026)

We welcome articles on new research, methodologies, and related subjects, and fieldwork reports for rock art of any geographic and chronological scope. The details on length, figures, and formatting can be found in the Instructions for Authors.

 

Special Issue (Submission Deadline: 4 December 2026)

This is a special issue on geospatial analysis, digital documentation, and new tools in rock art research. It is a result of a workshop held at the University of Gothenburg in February 2026, but external submissions are welcome. We welcome articles on novel approaches to geospatial analysis and GIS in rock art research, tools, and documentation strategies. The manuscript guidelines can be found in the Instructions for Authors. If you did not attend the workshop and are interested in submitting a manuscript, please send a summary of your proposed paper (max 150 words) to the guest editor, Ashely Green, before submission.

 

The two upcoming issues of Adoranten mark the start of its new publication system. Articles are now published under an open CC license, and all manuscripts must be submitted through the online platform. Authors can submit 3D models for the Swedish Rock Art Research Archives (SHFA) to host if they are relevant to the manuscript, but the editor and technical support must be notified ahead of publication.
