Late glacial environment and Late Paleolithic settlement in Southern Sweden

Abstract

Quatemary geological studies have resulted in a rather good view of the deglaciation of southem Sweden. Palaeoentomological analyses have shown that the climatic changes during the Late Glacial were much more dramatic than was k:nown earlier. Surveys in-tended to search for Late Palaeolithic settlement remains have provided several new finds, especially in the northem part of Scania. The subsistence of Late Palaeolithic man is discussed in relation to new result from the natural sciences.
