Abstract

The article gives an account for two macrofossilanalyses on one sample, perfonned with two different methods. The results are compared. The material was sampled at an underwater excavation in Oakbank crannog, situated in Loch Tay,
Perthshire, Scotland. The site is dated to the transition period between the Bronze age and the Iron age. Reconstruction of the vegetation surrounding the site during the time of use of the crannog is based on the identified plant material and the result of a wood anatomical analysis. The article is also comprising a resume of the British underwater excavation of Oakbank crannog.
