Bosättningen på Björkö i Mälaren

Abstract

In this paper the development of the agrarian settlement at Björkö in the lake Mälaren, for all the period preceding the foundation of Birka, is discussed. 

The location and extension of this settlement as well as its chronological range and economical structure is dealt with. The relation between the agrarian settlement and Birka is discussed as well as the supply of the latter.
