Abstract

In this paper a seriation of viking-age artefacts is compared with the results from the Ribe excavation. Both are found to be in agreement. A seriation of the ornamentation on the viking-age fibula P 51 studied by Jansson (1984) shows the fibula to develop much more continuous than is mostly believed.
