Abstract

Abstract.This paper deals wi th problems encountered in cleaning ,with EDTA in phosphate buffer,six brooches of Gothic types found in Kertch,Crimea.

Introduction,p.5-7.Polarographic,EDS and SEM analyses p.8-9,with tables, p.30-33 and photos p.34-36. Drawings of the brooches p.10-15. Methods used for cleaning p.16-29, with a special note by Birgit Arrhenius on the phosphate treatment of nr VI. In the general con-clusions,p.30 the importance to use a stable EDTA solution (pH 6-7) when cleaning Sn-bronzes is emphasized.
