In Memoriam: Pedro Díaz

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our colleague, Pedro Manuel Díaz Ortuño, on June 8, 2025 at the age of 59.

Pedro was a Professor Titular in the Department of Information and Documentation, at the University of Murcia, in Spain, where he studied topics around indexing, classification, and metadata.  

He is remembered at Information Research for his work on translating Spanish abstracts for the journal, when the journal published Spanish articles during the 1990s.  Most recently, he co-authored “Tom Wilson and Information Research:  Pioneers of the diamond open access,” for the recent 30th Anniversary special issue of Information Research.
