Open Access Policy

All content in Opuscula. Annual of the Swedish Institutes at Athens and Rome is published with immediate open access. Readers do not need to pay or register to access the content.

No manuscript submission fees or publishing fees of any kind are charged.

Subscription to the print edition of the journal costs 636 SEK per year.

Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version of their article for self-archiving (on their personal website) and/or archiving in an institutional repository immediately after publication.

COPYRIGHT

Authors retain the copyright of their work, with first publication rights granted to the Swedish Institutes at Athens and Rome. Authors can use their text in any way they see fit, including republishing it in different forms, such as online, in books, popular science articles or similar, once it has been published in Opuscula. The Swedish Institutes at Athens and Rome would appreciate if authors acknowledge the publication in Opuscula when republishing their work — it is polite, but not required.

CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSE

All texts in Opuscula are published under the terms of the Creative Commons license CC BY 4.0, which means that the texts may be freely shared — copied and redistributed in any medium or format and for any purpose, including commercial purposes. The material may also be adapted — for example, translated or built upon — for any purpose, including commercial use.

Proper credit must be given, a link to the license provided (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.en) and any changes clearly indicated.

All images in Opuscula are reproduced with the permission of the rights holders, acknowledged in captions, and expressly excluded from the CC BY license, unless otherwise stated. Authors are encouraged, whenever possible, to use illustrations that can be reproduced under a CC BY license.

Volumes 16–18 (2023–2025): All text is published with immediate open access under the CC BY license. All images are used with permission from the rights holders, credited in the captions, and explicitly excluded from the CC BY license.
