Season’s Greetings and Editorial Transition Notice for 2026

Season’s greetings to all our readers, reviewers, editors, and friends of SJPA!

As we reach the end of the year and the festive season approaches, I want to take a moment to share an important update and to reflect on what we have accomplished together. Beginning in early 2026, after serving as Editor-in-Chief since 2023, I will hand over the flag to SJPA’s new Co-Editors-in-Chief, Sanna Eklund and, from April 2026, Andreas Asplén Lundstedt. I am confident that they will continue to guide the journal with energy, vision, and dedication.

Since 2023, we have achieved a remarkable amount as a community. Together, we have:
– transitioned to a new web platform and successfully transferred the full journal archive,
– revised and clarified our journal and ethical policies,
– established new editorial routines and formed a strengthened editorial and international advisory team,
– built a pool of standing reviewers,
– signed the DORA declaration,
– published eight regular issues and four special issues,
– updated our PDF formats and implemented an XML workflow,
– secured indexing in Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest, and are currently under evaluation by the Academic Journal Guide (ABS),
– launched our social media presence and enhanced our website for better visibility and accessibility.

None of this would have been possible without the collective effort, support, and commitment of everyone involved in the SJPA community. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. Your engagement has meant a great deal to me, especially as I entered this role quite “green”, and I am truly thankful for the generosity, professionalism, and collaboration you have shown.

I hope you will continue to give SJPA the same strong support under Sanna’s and Andreas’ leadership. The journal is in excellent hands, and I look forward to seeing the continued development of our shared scholarly community.
