This contribution presents the current distribution of snow leopards in Afghanistan’s mountain landscapes and summarises the updated proposed national IUCN Red List range map. It reviews available information on population status and survey efforts. The chapter outlines key threats, including insecurity, prey decline, livestock-related conflict, and limited institutional capacity. It concludes with an overview of current conservation initiatives and priorities.
