Abstract

This contribution describes the distribution of snow leopards across Pakistan and presents the proposed national IUCN Red List range map. It summarises recent camera trapping, genetic studies, and national assessment efforts that inform current understanding of population status. The chapter outlines key threats in Pakistan, including livestock depredation and retaliatory killing, illegal hunting and trade, prey decline, habitat degradation, and infrastructure development associated with roads and energy projects. It concludes with an overview of current conservation and monitoring efforts in the country.
