This contribution presents the current distribution of snow leopards in the Altai–Sayan region of the Russian Federation and summarises the proposed national IUCN Red List range map. It reviews recent regional surveys and camera-trap monitoring that inform current understanding of population status. The chapter outlines key threats, including snare-based poaching, retaliatory killing linked to livestock depredation, prey decline, and localized infrastructure pressures. It concludes with summarising ongoing conservation and monitoring efforts in Russia.
