Abstract

This contribution presents the current distribution of snow leopards across Tajikistan and summarises the proposed national IUCN Red List range map. It reviews available survey data and published studies that inform current understanding of population status, including recent revisions to national estimates. The chapter outlines key threats in Tajikistan, including livestock depredation and retaliatory killing, illegal trade, prey dynamics, and climate change. It concludes with an overview of ongoing research and conservation efforts in the country.
