The study has identified a number of interesting opportunities and potentials for promoting safety and expanding measures to prevent against risks and accidents that can occur while travelling by tram. The study shows how people with disabilities must have the means of making their entire journey using public transport. The article discusses how the respondents avoid transfers, in part because they can´t always determine which tram is coming, and whether the one that is coming will be (if it´s) accessible, but also to avoid an unsafe ramp. The number of unsafe moments creates stress and increased transport poverty. The mere knowledge that something might happen leads to ‘travel stress’ or ‘public transport stress’, which manifests in different ways, such as irritation with fellow passengers or frustration over the inability to get to school or work on time.
