ARV means heritage or inheritance in the Scandinavian languages. ARV. Nordic Yearbook of Folklore is an international scholarly journal exploring folklore in its historical and contemporary forms. With a particular emphasis on the Nordic and Baltic regions, it examines how traditions, narratives, beliefs, practices and other forms of cultural expression are created, transmitted, negotiated and transformed across time and place. The journal addresses an international readership of scholars, students and others with an interest in folklore and cultural history.
