Propose a Guest-edited Special Issue

CIWIL Guest-edited Special Issues – General Guidelines

CIWIL includes special issues dedicated to particular themes or topics to promote focused scholarly discussion and new lines of research on important issues and questions focusing on the relationship between work and learning.

CIWIL aims to have one Special Issue (SI) per year. This can include

• Special issues, involving an open Call for Papers, and/or open Call for Guest Editors, on a particular issue;
• Guest Edited special issues, including researchers as part of their SI proposal.

CIWIL particularly welcomes SIs that provoke thought and discussion, for example, by taking new and emerging issues, and/or by challenging dominant practices and views.

Special Issue articles must have  the same editorial oversight as regular papers, including external peer review and be clearly labeled.  This means that all manuscripts in SIs will go through a double-blind peer-review process. Guest Editors' credentials will be checked and approved. 

To submit a SI proposal, please download and complete the CIWIL Guest-edited Special Issue Proposal Form. Submission details are included in the form. To be considered for publication in CIWIL, the SI must fit within CIWIL’s scope.
