Upcoming issues

Issue 1, 2026. Theme: Everyday Teaching Practice
In this issue of Högskolepedagogisk debatt, the focus is on “everyday teaching practice.” The theme is the same as that of the pedagogical conference Lärarlärdom, co-organized by Kristianstad University and Blekinge Institute of Technology. The deadline for submissions has passed. The issue will be published in April 2026.

Issue 2, 2026. Theme: Education for the Students of the Future
The upcoming issue of Högskolepedagogisk debatt focuses on bildung within higher education (i.e. education in the broad, formative sense).

In times of accelerating societal transformation and rapid technological development, universities and higher education institutions must both serve as guarantors of high quality and stability, and remain open to exploring new forms of teaching and new ways of supporting learning processes. For these reasons, we are seeking contributions that examines how higher education institutions, teachers, and students are affected by these societal challenges, and how teaching can be developed to remain relevant now and in the future.

Contributions to the issue may, for example, address:

  • What skills do present-day and future students need?
  • How can we make the bildung dimension visible in our educational programs?
  • What does critical and reflective thinking mean in a world with artificial intelligence and uncontrolled information flows?
  • In what ways can we make students co-creators of their education?
  • What opportunities and risks do new technology entail for teaching, supervision, and assessment?
  • How can we promote students’ responsibility for their own learning?
  • In what ways can higher education be organised for an uncertain future?

The editorial board welcomes texts that offer both critical perspectives and concrete methods, in order to create a deeper understanding of bildung within higher education.

Deadline for research articles: 15 April 2026
Deadline for other contributions: 15 June 2026

As usual, we also publish contributions outside the theme. All issues related to higher education pedagogy are of interest!
