Socialt arbeteAbstract
Social work has been discussed in Socialmedicinsk tidskrift since its first issue was released. In this text, it is shown how the topic has been discussed with different frequency during different periods, and that three periods during the period 1924–2006 stands out in this respect. Here, these periods are identified and characterized, and examples are given of how social work has been discussed in the journal under them. The historical examples highlighted illustrate a period where social work discussed in relation to care interventions, one where the subject of social work was established as a research subject in Sweden, and one where social work as a part of the Swedish welfare society came to be scrutinized in various ways.
