The effectiveness of learning foreign languages is related to the social climate that reigns in the classroom. Hence, the need arises to advocate for teaching methodologies and materials that respond to the new current challenges in education. This phraseological work focuses on the importance of humour as a motivating agent disguised as a didactic strategy for learning SFL. After analysing the advantages and disadvantages of the use of humour in the classroom, the conclusion is reached, through a multiple-choice phraseological test composed of verbal locutions framed in humorous contexts, that its inclusion can be beneficial for students. Likewise, with the purpose of endorsing with greater rigor the existing investigations about the humorous resource in the classroom, the objective of the present study was born, focused on knowing and accounting for the relationship between humour, didactics, and phraseology in the learning of SFL.
