RISM i Sverige

Abstract

A brief survey of the history of the international RISM project is presented. A specific account is given of the chronology of developments within its Swedish national committee. The rules and guidelines which were established for the cataloguing of library and other institutional holdings in Sweden are explained in great detail. The discussion is designed to be of tutorial value for the musicologist unfamiliar with the various published and unpublished RISM catalogues and card files which are presently housed in Sweden.
