What happens when theory meets practice in the space between universities and schools? This special issue of Educare examines the teacher education practicum, a space where professional identities are shaped, policies are enacted, and knowledge is negotiated. Across seven articles, this special issue explores identity formation, research-based teaching models, assessment practices, feedback dynamics, and the challenges of validation and workplace transitions. It highlights tensions between relational and didactic priorities and calls for stronger collaboration between universities and schools. Together, these studies offer insights into how practicum experiences can better integrate theory and practice, preparing future teachers for the realities of professional life.
