Abstract

The article explores the interplay between embodiment and the grand narrative within theological reflection and biblical interpretation. Building on a long-standing dialogue with biblical scholar Greger Andersson, three central questions are addressed: the hermeneutical (the diversity of the Bible versus narrative unity), the ontological (God’s presence in the course of history), and the existential (the significance of narrative for individual life interpretation and suffering). The article argues that embodiment and narrative should not be understood as opposing categories but held together in a creative tension. This perspective deepens the understanding of both human vulnerability and Christian faith’s claim to wholeness.
