The Impact of the Lausanne Covenant on the International Mission Work of Interact and The Swedish Alliance Mission

The Lausanne Movement has exerted considerable influence on Swedish Free Church missionary work. This lecture focuses in particular on the development of Örebromissionen during the 1970s, where missionary Jean Malm exemplifies the movement’s impact in areas such as evangelization, social responsibility, and ministry among unreached peoples. The international work of The Swedish Alliance Mission is likewise discussed, highlighting how the Covenant inspired new initiatives in, for example, Southern Africa and Central Asia, as well as a deeper theological and practical integration of social and evangelical work. The Lausanne Movement also contributed to increased collaboration, theological education, and the contextualization of the gospel. Ultimately, it continues to serve as a framework for missional thought and practice.
