In November 2024, a conference on youth, migration and diversity in Sweden was held. This preface introduces four articles examining how Christian congregations can operate in a post-migrant society, where approximately 28% of the population has a foreign background. A common theme is mutuality and genuine encounters, despite asymmetrical relationships. The articles address conversion as a lifelong process, criticism of assimilationist models of integration, interreligious boundary leadership, and an ecclesiology with porous congregational boundaries. Taken together, the authors argue that questions of diversity are not peripheral but reach the very core of what it means to be a Christian congregation in contemporary Sweden.
