After the Reformation and the wars, the Scanian city of Lund was devastated. Following the Battle of Lund on December 4, 1676, extensive urban planning began, which can be traced through both historical sources and archaeological observations. Using a garden archaeological method, an attempt is made to reconstruct what the area looked like before a road breakthrough in 1702. The study combines the analysis of historical maps, written sources, and previous archaeological observations with scientific analysis. The results provide insights into the development of the city and environmental changes in Lund, offering a proposal for reconstructing the city’s morphology and understanding how historical events have affected the urban structure
