Abstract

Taking as points of departure an observed everyday situation of coffee brewing, and two interviews carried out in an organisation in Denmark, the article discusses and suggests a number of possible paths of analysis of gender relations. It demonstrates how positions are situated and co-produced through communication and how, what the author names “gender teasing”, is an effective way of producing positions and gender meanings. It argues that making explicit the interpretations of the researcher, and her “thinking technologies” in the dialogue with others about the conditions for social change, will open up alternative tracks for understanding gender relations.
