Abstract

This introduction outlines some of the multi- and/or transdisciplinary contexts for cultural research after the cultural turn in the 1980s and 1990s. It also briefly describes the rationale behind the open call for contributions to this thematic issue of the journal, aiming for an overview of ongoing activities within the field of cultural research in Sweden.

Anders Ekström, Uppsala universitet

Anders Ekström är professor i idé- och lärdomshistoria vid Uppsala universitet. Hans senast publicerade böcker är Alltings mått: Humanistisk kunskap i framtidens samhälle, tillsammans med Sverker Sörlin (Stockholm: Norstedts, 2012), samt History of Participatory Media: Politics and Publics, 1750-2000, red. tillsammans med Solveig Jülich, Frans Lundgren och Per Wisslegren (New York: Routledge, 2011).
