Abstract

The article presents a number of occurrences from diverse educational environments. The examples are taken from research data and mirror in a variety of ways the theme: Body and gender in the school. At first sight the examples appeared contradictory and incomprehensible to the researchers. However, with the aid of Sandra Harding's multi-system theory and the concepts gender-choreography and symbolic violence, the complexity and contradictions of the informants' ideas about sex and their actions in different educational contexts are described, analyzed and understood.
