The aim of this article is to analyze the exchange and dependency relations between such widely differing phenomena as social research, social politics and interventions by police authorities. Interventions, the registration and handling of (asocial) individuals has to a great degree been the empirical basis for the human sciences. On the other hand, the science contribute with generally aimed questions about the development of society and/or the various insufficiencies of separate individuals. Through the production of statistics by the authorities and sciences, clients can be brought to the correct clientele after which the population level can be reached through social politics. The comprehensive survey of criminal youths, "Clientele study of 1956" is used as example.
