Abstract

In this article the ideas and contents of the concept of magic as it is used in modern popular culture are discussed. The main idea is that magic is used to give certain values and ideas in modern society a certain significance. The idea of magic is in many ways used in connection with ideas of the past, and how the past in certain ways seems to communicate with the inner self of modern man. By using the word magic, the past, and also other areas in modern culture becomes enchanted.
