Abstract

The article outlines a few basic features of a planned research project. This project makes up a third of a bigger project, which, from three different viewpoints, intends to throw light on the changes in political culture that Sweden has undergone since around 1980. In the bigger project, historian Martin Åberg will examine changes in the role of the politician and historian of ideas Fredrik Sunnemark will study how changes in the language of politics reflect underlying perceptions of the relationships between society, man and history.

The project presented in the article concerns biographical experiences of the political changes. It will be based on interviews with people old enough to have been marked by the preceding political culture. The article outlines the changes and two possible ways of relating to them.
