Abstract

The author speaks for an ethnology which advocates the experience of people who are normally excluded from the political and public arena. Methods to make the text polyphonic are discussed, to create an open text subject to multiple interpretations. The collaborative production of ethnologist knowledge is manifest and that involves sharing the texts with the respondents and regarding them as collaborators.

Marianne Liliequist, Umeå universitet

Marianne Liliequist är professor i etnologi vid institutionen för kultur och medier vid Umeå universitet. Hon är för närvarande verksam i ett projekt som handlar om det politiska våldets logik. Den nyligen utkomna antologin Gatans politik. Göteborgsdemonstrationerna juni 2001 ur mediernas, polisernas och demonstranternas perspektiv anknyter till detta tema.
