Att undra kring kärnavfall

Abstract

The handling of nuclear waste is indeed a critical issue in (late-)modern societies. In this article I present some basic features of my discourse analytical approach on nuclear waste. In relation to that I also give a more concrete description of the case study I have conducted on the opinion formation process in Malå municipality in the inner north of Sweden. During five years Malå was a candidate for the disposal of Swedish high-level nuclear waste. The Malå case forms my empirical material (primarily mass media coverage and interviews with opinion leaders) for the research of the Swedish nuclear waste discourse.
