Abstract

Based on field work in Poland in the early seventies, the author describes an exciting development of ethnology. Referring to some thoughts of Billy Ehn it is a serious task to write and take notes. Language is a laboratory. But why single out the experimental from the one in this case normal ethnology? All science is tentative. Ethnology is based on the dominant idea, to seek opportunities to stretch the method to describe and analyze the world.
