Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • I, the submitting author, warrant that I have the permission of any and all co-authors to submit this manuscript, that any co-authors can be considered as such according to the journal's authorship criteria and that I have permission to be their spokesperson during the review process and beyond. I also approve distribution with the CC license the journal uses, and this too has been approved by co-authors.
  • The manuscript has not been previously published in the current submitted version, nor is it under consideration by another journal. If the manuscript has been published in an earlier version, this should be clearly indicated (feel free to enter an explanation in the box "Comments to the editor" if relevant).
  • All material presented in the manuscript where copyright is held by third parties has been properly produced and necessary permissions have been obtained by the submitting author.
  • All references listed in the reference list are cited in the manuscript, and vice versa. The references are formatted according to the journal style sheet, and DOI numbers have been included where available. URLs for online references are provided and are clickable (e.g. randomjournal.net).
  • The text complies with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements set out in the guidelines under the heading “General guidelines for the preparation of articles” below. Every effort has been made to ensure that the submitted manuscript is ready for the review process in accordance with the journal’s anonymised peer review policy.
  • All tables are cited in the main text and included in the text document.
  • All figures are cited in the main text and uploaded as supplementary files. Figures/images have a resolution of at least 150 dpi (300 dpi or higher is preferred). The files are in one of the following formats: JPG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, or EPS (to maximise quality, the original source file is preferred).
  • All individuals or groups of individuals who can be identified in the study, or their legal guardians, have signed informed consent forms and have thereby given their consent for the submitted content to be published under a CC BY licence.
