Contemporary consumption generates mobility and even though recent understandings of consumption have moved beyond moments of purchase, it has also become complicated to discuss spatiality and mobility. This article builds on semi-structured qualitative interviews and “go-along observations” of families with small children and develops an argument that the consequences of people moving purchases are paramount for understanding (un)sustainable urban life and possibilities for systemic transition towards a more sustainable consumer culture.
